COMMUNITY – Attachment Parenting of Suffolk County
Attachment parenting is based on the scientific studies showing that social ties are not optional for health and wellbeing, but a crucial part of human wellness. As social creatures, we thrive in community (and our children are no different).
We are committed to providing community, guidance, and free and low-cost resources and research that support effective parenting strategies and assist families in creating strong bonds and lasting relationships.
Research supports the benefit of attachment parenting
Attachment parenting holds that healthy parental coping skill and effective parenting skills are crucial to establishing strong and secure parent-child bonds. With the basis of a secure bond, a child has the freedom to learn and experience the world from a place of respect and empathy, knowing that they have a safe foundation or “safe space” to return to.
The scientific support is clear; attachment parenting is effective.
